Operator – HLT

We are currently looking for an Operator who can programme, set and operate mainly Coherent Everlase lasers.

Experience with laser processing and Aerotech control systems preferred although not essential.

Primary processors of high-grade ceramics for the electronics and aerospace industries. We also process all plastics, thin form metals and composites as well as wood and textiles.

We work to general tolerances of +/- 25 microns achievable with 2 micron repeatability.

SPECIFICATION

  • We are looking for someone who can work under your own initiative whilst closely following standard procedures.
  • You must be able to demonstrate a willingness to work hard and to learn.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings and a good mathematical ability/understanding is essential.
  • Close attention to cleanliness/detail is required.
  • A forward thinker and someone who is open to continual improvement of product and process.
  • Fairly computer literate and confident in computer use.
  • Versatile in approach to self-motivation.
  • Must be reliable, flexible and willing to work shifts on a rotating pattern.
  • As this is a small team you must be a good team player.
  • Common sense is paramount in this role.

CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator – ShearXL

We are looking for an experienced 5 axis programmer/setter/operator to join our busy ShearXL business unit working predominantly within the motorsports industry for some extremely prestigious customers.

For this role we are looking for the following:

  • Excellent Cad/Cam skills, preferably using Hypermill, but training will be provided if necessary for the right candidate.
  • 5 axis programming/machining experience.
  • Experience working with castings would be an advantage but not essential.
  • The reading and interpretation of complex
  • Flexibility as tight deadlines are common.
  • The design and manufacture of simple fixtures where appropriate.
  • Work documentation – logging times onto our ERP system accurately to ensure job profitability and ISO 9001 conformance.

Welder/Fabricator

We are looking for an experienced TIG welder/Fabricator to work within our Fabrication Factory.

The ideal applicant would have knowledge and experience of general sheet metal processes to support our requirement to:

  • Accurately TIG weld stainless and mild steel/Zintec as well as aluminium to a very high standard while working to engineering drawings. Typical material thickness is 1mm to 3mm.
  • You must have experience of welding box section frames and assemblies to a high standard within tight tolerances.
  • Ensuring all parts manufactured conform to the issued drawing and work instructions.
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed within the budgeted hours allocated.
  • Involvement in developing new products in conjunction with our customer requirements for light to medium fabrications and be able to fabricate their own jigs and fixtures where applicable.
  • General Sheet Metal fabrication and finishing skills to support your role as a Welder/Fabricator.

About You

  • You will have a proven welding ability with a good eye for detail.
  • As we hold BSI accreditation to aerospace standard (AS 9100) you must be competent at filling in paperwork and have the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to interpret and follow customer drawings.
  • Ability to work accurately and to a high standard.
  • Have experience of working in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Possess a team working ethic with good communication skills.

Engineering Apprenticeships for 2024

Based on the Cambridgeshire Business Park, in Ely, we are a well-established, sub-contract Engineering Company supplying components to the aerospace, automotive, medical and hi-tech industries.

This is an exciting opportunity in conjunction with a local College to complete an Apprenticeship in Engineering, which will give you a good basis for building your future career.

You could be working in any of the following areas:

  • CNC Machining
  • Welding and Fabrication
  • Assembly
  • Laser Cutting
  • General Engineering

The apprenticeship

  • You will be supported in your studies towards an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, which together with the practical experience you gain, will provide you with the perfect platform for an exciting career ahead.
  • After completion of your apprenticeship, you will also be given the opportunity to complete further training.
  • You should have an interest in engineering, a certain amount of manual dexterity, excellent attention to detail, patience, a positive attitude, and plenty of enthusiasm.
  • Although working as part of a team, we are looking for someone who has initiative and can in time manage their own workload.
  • You must be punctual, reliable, flexible, adaptable and ready to rise to each new challenge.
